Globalization and Swedish Security:
Upcoming events at CSSC

Dear friends of CSSC,

This spring we host several interesting speakers at our events at SSE.

First, we welcome Elisabeth Braw, senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, who will speak about her new book Goodbye Globalization: The Return of a Divided World. The book is a new account of the state of globalization today – and what its collapse might mean for the world economy. Elisabeth is also columnist with Foreign Policy, Politico Europe and regular op-ed contributor to the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal. The book talk takes place at SSE on March 5, 13:15-15:00.

On March 13, 13:15-15:00 we welcome Anna Wieslander, also at the Atlantic Council where she is Director for Northern Europe and head of its Stockholm office. Anna has a long background as a leading expert on Swedish and European security issues. She is also PhD candidate in political science at Lund University and at our seminar she will speak on the topic of "The Hultqvist doctrine" – Swedish security and defence policy after the Russian annexation of Crimea.

Every semester, we also host a bigger lunch event – the StratCom Lunch. On April 10, Magnus Hjort, Director General of the Swedish Psychological Defense Agency, will speak on how to Protect Sweden against foreign malign information and influence activities. Magnus has PhD in History and has served in various leading roles in Swedish government agencies.
